Yevgeniya Derbal, a partner of Konnov & Sozanovsky and head of the tax law department, made a speech at the First annual conference of the Ukrainian branch of the International Fiscal Association (IFA), which was dedicated to international taxation matters and took place at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Kiev.
Ms Derbal’s report was dedicated to the tax aspects of using native investment funds for investing in residential real estate in Ukraine. The distinctive features of the investment fund taxation and the tax risk occurring when investing into residential real estate with the aid of obligations were looked at within the frame of the report. Apart from taxation of investment funds, the report touched on the tax implications scheme for real estate developers and fund investors.
Along with the particulars of taxation in Ukraine, Ms Derbal examined taxation of investors registered in Cyprus, who are often used as intermediaries in the real estate investment process.
Over one hundred participants were present at the IFA conference, amongst whom were representatives of auditing firms, law firms and businessmen with a strong interest in real estate development.
