• January 2008 - Konnov & Sozanovsky,  First Law International exclusive partner law firm in Ukraine, and the law firms Linklaters, Alrud (the Russian Federation) and Grata (Kazahstan) acted as Ukrainian legal counsel to FLI’s client NFI Empik Media & Fashion on the acquisition of the Maratex group of companies, an owner of retail network of shops of casual dress (Esprit and Peacocks). Our lawyers conducted legal due diligence of Maratex (in Ukraine and Cyprus); advised on a share purchase agreement and shareholders agreement; and obtained the merger clearance of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.
• January 2008 - Konnov & Sozanovsky, First Law International (FLI)’s exclusive partner law firm in Ukraine supported the project on the expansion of the Network of Book Supermarkets «Bookva» (Litera). Our team of lawyers participated in negotiations  of lease agreements; advised on commercial activity of the client; represented interests of the client before the courts of Ukraine and advised on debt financing.
• November 2007 - Konnov & Sozanovsky conducted legal due diligence of the largest internet provider in Kiev, Industrial Media Network closed joint-stock company (IPNET). We advised on the closing deliverables of the transaction (loan agreement, share purchase agreement) connected with the acquisition of a controlling share of this provider by the Russian communication company FTH Corvette-Telecom Limited.
• April 2007 - Konnov & Sozanovsky, First Law International’s exclusive partner law firm in Ukraine, in conjunction with the law firm Linklaters, acted as Ukrainian legal counsel to FLI’s client NFI Empik Media & Fashion in the acquisition by Smyk company, an affiliated structure of  NFI Polish corporation, of a controlling share ownership of the well-known Kinderland shops for children and mothers. After closing of the transaction, re-branding followed and at present moment this network of shops, now named Smyk, has significantly expanded its presence in Ukraine. Konnov & Sozanovsky prepared the package of corporate documents including agreements at Ukrainian and Cypriot levels. In particular, Konnov & Sozanovsky drafted loan agreements; obtained merger clearance of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine and provided legal assistance on the transaction closing, including drafting and review of a number of various agreements.
